Schuylerville man charged with attempted rape – New York News




SCHUYLERVILLE, N.Y. >> Saratoga County sheriff’s deputies said a call about a domestic incident Friday led to a man being charged with first-degree attempted rape, a felony.

Robert S. Loomis Jr., 29, of Schuylerville, was also charged with third-degree assault, a misdemeanor, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.

Deputies said they responded to a call of a domestic incident at 220 Broad St., Apartment A, in the village at 3:20 a.m. July 7.

Loomis attempted to engage in sexual intercourse with another person by forcible compulsion, deputies said. He also intentionally caused an injury to a person, deputies said.

Deputies said Loomis knows the victim.

He was arraigned in Saratoga Town Court and sent to the Saratoga County Jail in lieu of bail or bond.
