LIRR reports good service on third day of 'summer of hell' – New York News

Long Island commuters have ridden smoothly into day three of the so-called “summer of hell.”

Relatively uneventful Long Island Rail Road service marked the first two days of Amtrak’s track repair work at Penn Station and riders are banking on continuing the honeymoon Wednesday.

As of 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, the LIRR was reporting good service during the morning commute.
