SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. >> The Spa City now has a new place to stay, with the opening of a new Homewood Suites by Hilton.
This new extended stay hotel, located at 3368 S. Broadway, Saratoga Springs, opened its doors to the public last month.
On Friday, the hotel’s ownership and management celebrated the opening during a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce.
This newly constructed hotel, on the property that once housed the Weathervane Restaurant in Saratoga Springs, is owned by Turf Hotels and Pioneer Companies. The locally-based Turf Hotels company also owns the Hampton Inn & Suites in downtown Saratoga Springs, along with three other hotels in the Albany area.
“While there are many hotels in Saratoga, there’s only one other extended stay hotel,” Turf Hotels president Brian Straughter said on why the owners decided to pursue this project. “So we think we’re trying to serve a need that is not met by the other hotels.”
The new South Broadway hotel has a total of 113 suites: studios, one-bedrooms and two-bedrooms. Additionally, the facility has several amenities including a pool, patio, business center, basketball court, gym, laundry and storage space for guests.
The new extended stay hotel is primarily marketing itself for guests staying five nights or more, including those who may be looking to relocate to the area.
The hotel is located not far off of Exit 13N on the Northway, an entranceway to the city for many visitors.
