Official: Twin boys, 3, dead in Melville drowning accident – New York News

Two toddlers were found unresponsive in the backyard of a Melville home  and were taken to a hospital in critical condition, a fire official said on Wednesday, July 26, 2017. The Melville Fire Department’s Assistant Chief David Kaplan said one of the toddlers was found in a swimming pool and one was found nearby on the ground.

Twin 3-year-old boys died after a drowning accident at a Melville home Wednesday morning, officials said.

“The hospital worked feverishly for a different outcome but it was not to be today,” Andrea Mineo, a spokeswoman for Plainview Hospital said shortly before noon.

Homicide Squad Det. Lt. Kevin Beyrer confirmed the boys’ death.
