ALBANY — Albany Medical Center on Wednesday celebrated a $2.5 million gift from Robert and Lisa Moser, of Saratoga Springs.
The donation, made also in the name of the Moser’s children, Carson, 9, and Emery, 7, will support the work of pediatric plastic surgeon Oluwaseun “Seun” Adetayo and the hospital’s Cleft-Craniofacial Center, according to Albany Med President and CEO James J. Barba.
Adetayo, section chief of Pediatric Plastic Surgery and director of The Cleft-Craniofacial Center, developed a unique model of care where Albany Med physicians work alongside community-based specialists from numerous disciplines in The Cleft-Craniofacial Center, according to a prepared statement. Together, they treat complex cases in one location, saving children and families from a difficult ordeal of many appointments in various locations with many different specialists.
Other treatment centers offering a comparable level of care are located as far away as New York City or out of state, according to the hospital statement.
Adetayo, a graduate of the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, is the center’s director.
The center opened in 2015 and serves hundreds of children annually from northeastern New York and western New England.
