Deputies: Man robbed at gunpoint, dragged down road – New York News

Two Saratoga County men face felony charges that accuse them of robbing a man at gunpoint earlier this month and then fleeing in a truck with the man dangling out the window.

Benjamin Deeb, 37, of Wilton, and Shane Irish, 31, of Greenwich, were arrested Saturday following an investigation by Saratoga County sheriff’s deputies. Deeb was charged with felony counts of robbery, reckless endangerment, criminal possession of a weapon and assault, while Irish was charged with reckless endangerment.

Lt. Jeff Brown said Thursday that Deeb and Irish met up with the man, who they knew, at the Hannaford in Malta on July 6. Deeb pointed a gun at him before taking his money, he said.

When the duo went to flee in Irish’s truck, the man reached in through the window, trying to get his money back, Brown said.

That’s when Irish drove away while Deeb held the man out the window, causing him to be dragged down the road, Brown said.

Both men were arraigned and sent to Saratoga County jail, deputies said. They are due in Malta Town Court at a later date.
