Police: Schenectady woman, 51, stabbed man in chest – New York News

A Schenectady woman is facing felony charges after she allegedly stabbed a man in the chest Wednesday night a couple blocks from the intersection of State Street and South Brandywine Avenue.

City police responded to a call shortly after 9 p.m. following a report of a stabbing near 36 Kelton Ave. They found Rayshawn Richardson, 27, suffering from a stab wound to the chest. He was treated on the scene and taken to Albany Medical Center with nonlife-threatening injuries, police said.

A short time later, police located and arrested Penny A. White, 51, in connection with the incident. White faces charges of second-degree assault and reckless endangerment, both felonies. She is also facing a second-degree menacing charge, a misdemeanor.

White is being held in Schenectady County jail, and is awaiting arraignment in city court, police said.
