A taxi struck the pedestrian at about 11:30 a.m. between Brandywine Avenue and Waldorf Place, according to police and witnesses.
The condition of the woman struck wasn’t immediately clear, but a witness to the aftermath said she appeared breathing but unconscious as paramedics worked on her. She was taken to Albany Medical Center for treatment. The witness described the woman as in her 30s.
The vehicle that struck her is a taxi van with the name Andy’s Taxi on the side. The van’s hood has a large dent in the middle and the windshield is smashed at the bottom.
