A Goversville woman is facing endangerment charges after police said she instructed her young daughters to walk home from Murphy’s Irish Pub on Fulton Street.
Unsure of where they live, the girls decided to wait near West Street, the Gloversville Police Department said in a news release.
Around 9 p.m. an officer saw the two girls and later learned that their mother, Kayla M. Trickler, 30, of West Street, was at Murphy’s. Officers located Trickler and found her to be in possession of a packet of cocaine that was “consistent with the intent to sell,” according to the news release.
Trickler was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor, and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony. She was arraigned in Gloversville City Court and sent to the Fulton County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $35,000 bond.
It’s unclear what became of the children, but the Gloversville Police Department told CBS 6 Albany that child protective services has opened an investigation.
