Gansevoort man charged after boat crash with patrol vessel – New York News




BOLTON, N.Y. >> A Gansevoort man is facing a criminal charge after police said he struck a patrol boat Sunday on Lake George.

David S. McKeighan was charged with boating while intoxicated, a misdemeanor. Police said he had a blood alcohol level of .08 percent.

According to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, while patrolling Sawmill Bay on Lake George, a patrol boat operated by members of Warren County Sheriff’s Office Marine Patrol and Lake George Park Commission was struck McKeighan’s vessel. Officers said they determined McKeighan was intoxicated at the time of the crash.

Police said the damage to the boats was minimal, and no one was injured. The arrest was made by Sheriff’s Patrol Officer Jeff Webster and Officer James Kneeshaw of the Lake George Park Commission.

McKeighan was issued an appearance ticket for Bolton Town Court and released.
