ICE officers nab more immigrants in Saratoga Springs – New York News

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. >> Eight more illegal immigrants were arrested Monday by federal officers it what was described as a “targeted” operation.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers announced the men, who are citizens of Mexico and between the ages of 20 and 49, occurred “without incident” in Saratoga Springs.

ICE officials did not release the names of the men, who are being held at the Albany County Correction Facility pending transfer to the Buffalo Federal Detention Facility.

Authorities said the men are facing administration immigration violations. One is facing federal felony charges for re-entry after deportation. Depending on the suspect’s criminal history, anyone who illegally re-enters the U.S. after having been previously removed, has committed a felony punishable by up to 20 years in federal prison.


The eight arrests come after a number of raids in the Spa City since May in which nearly three dozen alleged illegal immgrants have been rounded up.
