Police: Woman seen forced into car OK, speaks to police – New York News

SCHENECTADY — The woman who city police feared was forced into her car last week by her boyfriend has been accounted for, is OK and no charges are pending, police said Tuesday.

Zeniffa Sookram, 28, of Schenectady, came in to speak with detectives Monday, police spokesman Sgt. Matthew Dearing said.

Dearing did not go into specifics about what she told investigators, but he said no charges have been filed.

Police asked for help finding Sookram on Sept. 6, after they said she was seen being forced into a car by her boyfriend Rafiek Yussef, 38, near 864 Maplewood Ave. Police wanted to check on Sookram’s welfare.

Police described the vehicle, gave its plate number and its last known location — on the Thruway near New Paltz. Yussef had ties to Queens.

The incident was being investigated by members of the Schenectady Police Department’s detective division.
