COHOES, N.Y. >> The Garcia Project is coming to Cohoes, with a special performance based on a real Jerry Garcia Band experience.
The local event will take place at 8 p.m. on Friday at the historic Cohoes Music Hall, located at 58 Remsen St. in Cohoes.
All of the The Garcia Project’s shows are classic recreations of actual setlists performed by The Jerry Garcia Band from 1976 to 1995. For anyone that never had a chance to experience the Jerry Garcia Band, or for fans that want to relive a classic show, The Garcia Project delivers the goods.
With precise arrangements and the proper instrumentation and feel for any and all given eras, The Garcia Project faithfully channels and aims to project the feelings, emotions and music that propelled the Jerry Garcia Band and the fans through many years of music.
This Cohoes Music Hall is presented through the venue’s management by Palace Performing Arts Center Inc. This organization, affiliated with The Palace Theatre in Albany, took over management at the Cohoes site last September.
Cohoes Mayor Shawn Morse indicated that, since that time, thousands of patrons have enjoyed a show at the revitalized hall. The Palace management team has exceeded its goal of hosting more than 60 live events in the Hall in this first year of management, in addition to hosting community events and films. “The Palace Theatre has certainly exceeded our expectations and has become our economic engine that drives success to our downtown,” the mayor said in a press release.
