SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. >> Saratoga Springs City School District Board of Education, in its search for the new superintendent, has scheduled finalists for the position to make a public presentation on Tuesday, Sept. 26, Wednesday, Sept. 27, and if needed Tuesday, Oct. 3.
The names of finalists will be announced on Monday, Sept. 25.
All community members, parents, students and staff are invited to the presentations. Each finalist will be asked to describe how they would interact with the community, parents, staff, students and school board in their first year as superintendent, sometimes referred to as an entry plan.
Presentations will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. in the high school teaching auditorium, room H102.
The school board began the search process last May. The process included a public forum and online survey to obtain feedback from the community regarding the characteristics, skills and experience desired in the next school district leader.
In August, the board screened candidates and conducted initial interviews with a number of candidates.
Semifinalist candidates will be interviewed by advisory committees during the week of Sept. 18. Both committees will provide feedback to the school board and will include members of the community, school staff, students and parents.
The search process for each candidate will conclude with a comprehensive final interview process, including the entry plan presentations and a final interview with the board.
