Bette Midler falls during 'Hello, Dolly!,' reassures fans she's 'fine' – New York News

Bette Midler was “lookin’ swell” after taking a tumble from a moving set piece during Thursday night’s performance of “Hello, Dolly!”

Midler tweeted after the show that there was a “little accident on stage tonight; two set pieces collided. I had to make a run for it, and I fell. But I’m fine.”

A spokesman for the show confirmed that Midler would go on tonight as scheduled.

The fall from the revolving set happened near the end of the first act, right before Midler was set to sing “Before the Parade Passes By.”

Stage crew members rushed to help her up, and the show was halted for less than 15 minutes, reports Playbill. Midler returned to thunderous applause and belted out the song; the second act went on without a problem.

Midler, 71, who won this year’s best actress in a musical Tony, is winding down her run. She leaves the production on Jan. 14, with Bernadette Peters taking her place on Jan. 20.
